Small Swaps, Big Impact: Daily Swaps Challenge

EVE Estuary HUB was proud to take part in the An Taisce Green-Schools Daily Swaps Challenge from 9th–13th March — a week dedicated to building simple, sustainable habits that make a real difference.

Throughout the week, we fully embraced the challenge, stepping into roles as “Light Detectives” and “Binfluencers” as we explored fun and practical ways to care for the environment both at home and within Estuary HUB.

From switching off taps and turning out lights, to racing against the clock with 5-minute showers, every small action counted. We embraced smarter laundry habits with the sniff test and cold washes, boiled only the water we needed, and made the switch from single-use bottles to reusable alternatives.

Food choices were also part of the journey — reducing food waste and even trying out a meat-free meal, showing that sustainability can be simple, achievable, and even enjoyable.

It was a powerful reminder that small, everyday swaps can lead to meaningful change. Together, we proved that when everyone plays their part, those little actions add up to a big impact!
