Yesterday we visited Hidden Acres Farmhouse and Gardens in Malahide to learn more about Social farming and the opportunities it can offer the people we support.
Social Farming gives people the opportunity to take part in meaningful everyday activities in a supportive farm environment, while building confidence, social connect, independence, and new skills.
Hidden Acres, located close to Malahide Castle, is a modern hospitality and unique farming retreat with a guest house and glamping pods, run by Albert and David Ruitner, and is currently working with Social Farming Ireland.

The visit was organised through the Fingal LEADER Partnership Workability team and gave us a great insight into what social farming is all about, what a typical day might look like, and the many benefits it can offer through meaningful activities, routine, social connection, confidence building, and time spent outdoors in nature.
We had the opportunity to meet the animals, explore the farm, and learn more about the many benefits social farming can offer.

It was a really enjoyable and informative visit, and we are very much looking forward to the possibility of working with Hidden Acres Farmhouse and Gardens in the future.
