Strengthening Skills Through Partnership

Earlier this year, in partnership with DDLETB, EVE Estuary Centre successfully applied for the 2025 Collaboration and Initiative Fund under the Adult Literacy for Life strategy. This fund, managed by the SOLOS National Programme, supports projects that empower adults to participate to develop their skills, engage more fully in society, and access more community services.

With this support, we launched the Work Smart Programme, a summer initiative (June–August) for service users in paid employment. The programme focused on building confidence and practical skills, with sessions on literacy and numeracy, understanding payslips, volunteering, workplace signs, and speaking with confidence.

A huge thank you to Mary, who led the programme, and to all the tutors who made it such a success!
