This year Estuary Centre is participating in the Climate Action Hero’s Challenge. Our team is driven by our local Green Team and is made up of service users and staff from our centre.
Our aim is to raise awareness of our climate footprint and show how we can reduce it by changing just a few small things each day.
Climate Heroes is an initiative of Global Action Plan, who have partnered with Fingal County Council to run the challenge.
The aim of the competition is to show how each person and group can use simple and effective measures to reduce their own climate footprint on a daily basis, both at home and in work.
Climate friendly activities can include using a keep cup, cycling or walking to work, using public transport, air-drying clothes, eating vegetarian and locally produced food, among many other activities that the challenge will highlight.
For the 2025 challenge, Community Centres are invited to enter a team comprised of their staff, volunteers or users.
The Community & Centre Challenge will commence on Tuesday 6th May and run through to Sunday 18th May!
