Work Experience Group

As part of our weekly work experience group facilitated by new staff member Daniel, we were encouraged to explore and discuss various employability skills which could help us to understand important aspects required to gain work experience. The aim of this is to help us improve our current skills and develop new ones.

The group watched ‘Employability Skills’ – an explanatory and guidance video which highlighted very important skills needed in the workplace such as; Communication, Team Work, Problem Solving, Initiative, Planning and Organising, Self-Management, Learning and Technology.

Some of us attending the group are doing work experience at present and others are hoping to get a job in the near future. We found this class really engaging and it was great to give some examples of personal skills which some of us have used in our current work experience placements or during previous jobs.
