Furoshiki

We have recently been practicing the Japanese art of “furoshiki. Furoshiki is a Japanese wrapping cloth traditionally used to wrap and transport clothes or gifts, it can be used to wrap anything with Origami folding concepts. The word  comes from two different words, “Furo” and “Shiki” meaning “Bath” and “To Spread”.

We practiced folding and tying pieces of cloth into bags, we also practiced gift-wrapping as well. This was a fun thing to learn. It also got us talking about how an ancient Japanese art still has uses in our modern world. By using these techniques we can cut down on our use of plastic bags. So thats it folks we hope you like our bags.
